Reading
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from me, so far from my cries of anguish?
My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest.
Yet, you are in charge.
In you our ancestors put their trust; they trusted you and you delivered them. To you they cried out and were heard; in you they trusted and were not put to shame.
—Psalm 22 (OT)
Quiet
As your day draws to a close, spend a few moments in silence and stillness.
Affirmation
God is with me, even if I don’t feel it.
God hears me, even if I don’t hear God.
God is in charge, even if I can’t see it.
All that God is, is good.
God cares for me.
Prayer
Holy God, thank you that you did not wash your hands of me but instead set out to find, forgive, and free me in a deluge of your grace. Amen. (BC)
