Reading
In God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
I have made promises to you, my God; I will thank you, even when I don’t feel like it. For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before you in the light of life.
—Psalm 135 (OT)
Quiet
As your day draws to a close, spend a few moments in silence and stillness. What, in the passage stood out to you? Ponder it in meditation.
Prayer
Father God, I become what I worship. I serve money and become a calculating machine, or a slave to my career. Focus me on Jesus, so that I might become like him. Amen. (HC)
