Day 187, Morning

Today’s morning meditation is available below in audio and script formats. The audio version is also available for free download on the player.

Reading

Do not be deceived. A person reaps what they sow. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap life. So let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

—Galatians 6 (NT)

Stillness

As your day begins, spend a few moments in silence and stillness.

Dwelling

Read the passage again. Find a word or phrase that catches your eye or moves your heart. Slowly repeat it in your mind. Pray your thoughts, desires, needs, and feelings from your meditation.

Prayer

Lord of the harvest, it’s not a question of “if” anything is growing in my life but “what.” Help me to know that the root of what I see in my life is found in the quiet planting of thoughts, words, desires, and gestures. Guide me to examine those quiet, hidden places of my life, so that my life contributes to the growth of your kingdom, for all to see and enjoy. Amen. (HC)
