Reading
“In the total religious experience we learn how to wait; we learn how to ready the mind and the spirit. It is in the waiting, brooding, lingering, tarrying timeless moments that the essence of the religious experience becomes most fruitful. It is here that I learn to listen.”
—Howard Thurman
Stillness
As your day begins, spend a few moments in silence and stillness— listening.
Blessing
May God awaken you. May God awake in you.
May you come to the realization that your life, your breath, your entire being is found in the Source that is God. And in every circle that you occupy, may you bring life, hope, honesty, transparency, and empathy.
May the God in you greet the God in others.
Amen.
