Reading

The best athlete wants his opponent at his best. The best general enters the mind of his enemy. The best businessman serves the communal good. The best leader follows the will of the people.

All of them embody the virtue of non-competition. Not that they don't love to compete, but they do it in the spirit of play. In this they are like children and in harmony with The Path.

—The Tao Te Ching

Quiet

As your day begins, spend a few moments in silence and stillness.

Affirmation

Today, I will accept opposition as a gift that is making me a better person.

Today, in business, I will serve for the good of my colleagues, and for the good of the world.

Today, I will lead, by doing what is best for all of those under my care.

Today, I will compete, not in anger, jealousy, but in the spirit of play.

Today, I surrender my life to the rhythms of God.
