Day 222, Evening

Today’s evening meditation is available below in audio and script formats. The audio version is also available for free download on the player.

Reading

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.

Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a open heart, who does not trust in idols or swear by a false god.

This one will receive blessing from the Lord.

Such is the generation of those who seek him,

—Psalm 24 (OT)

Quiet

As your day draws to a close, spend a few moments in silence and stillness.

Quiet

The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it. I belong to God.

The world is the Lord’s and all who live in it. I belong to God.

He founded it on the seas and established it on the waters. All belongs to God.

Who may ascend to the mountain of the Lord? I can, because I belong to God.

Who may stand in his holy place? I can, because I belong to God.

I open my heart and I trust in the One God, called by many names, and God blesses me.

Prayer

God of strange grace, we cannot reach to heaven, but heaven will reach down to us. Reunite humanity once more. Don’t let my heart be scattered among multiple affections; keep me centered in you. Amen. (WLC)
