Day 227, Evening

Today’s evening meditation is available below in audio and script formats. The audio version is also available for free download on the player.

Reading

Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord honor and strength. Worship the Lord in the brightness of his perfection. The Lord sits enthroned above the flood; the Lord reigns forever. The Lord gives strength to his people. The Lord blesses his people with peace.

—Psalm 29 (OT)

Quiet

As your day draws to a close, spend a few moments in silence and stillness.

Affirmation

God is in charge, even if it’s difficult to see.

I will trust in the Lord.

I am strong, even if I don’t feel it.

I will trust in the Lord.

Peace is within my grasp, and God is longing for me to experience it.

I will trust in the Lord.

Prayer

God who listens, teach me that humility and courage aren’t opposites. Don’t let me hide anything from you—not the needs of myself or others, not my joy, or even my frustration with your ways. And always, may my bold prayers rest on the unshakable foundation that you listen to my heart. Amen. (HC)
