Day 228, Evening

Today’s evening meditation is available below in audio and script formats. The audio version is also available for free download on the player.

Reading

I will exalt you, Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. I called to you for help and you healed me. You brought me back from the door of death. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning. You turned my sorrow into dancing.

—Psalm 30 (OT)

Quiet

As your day draws to a close, spend a few moments in silence and stillness.

Dwelling

Read the passage again. How is God speaking to you through the words?

Prayer

Gracious Lord, for many the gospel seems too good to be true. When life looks so unforgettably bad, how can I believe something so impossibly good? I pray that you do what only you are able—birth Christ’s life in me through the work of your Holy Spirit. Amen. (WSC)
