Day 155, Evening
Today’s evening meditation is available below in audio and script formats. The audio version is also available for free download on the player.
Reading
My God, whom I adore, do not remain silent, for people who are wicked and deceitful have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues. With words of hatred they surround me; they slander me without cause.
In return for my friendship they accuse me, but I am a person of prayer. They repay me evil for good, and hatred for my friendship. Help me, Lord my God; rescue me in your unfailing love. Let them know that it is your hand, that you, Lord, have done it. While they curse, may you bless.
—Psalm 109 (OT)
Stillness
As your day draws to a close, spend a few moments in silence and stillness meditating on the passage that you just read.
Prayer
Loving God, in upper rooms and downtown condos, in suburban bedrooms and country churches, your people wait and pray. Send your Spirit that we may know the truth revealed in Christ, that we may experience life. Amen. (CD)
