Day 177, Evening

Today’s evening meditation is available below in audio and script formats. The audio version is also available for free download on the player.

Reading

Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord. Hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my calls for help. If you, Lord, kept a record of my wrongs, who would object? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, in reverence, serve you.

I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his words I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.

—Psalm 130 (OT)

Stillness

As your day draws to a close, spend a few moments in silence and stillness.

Dwelling

Read the passage again. Is there a word or idea that stirs within you? Linger over it and give it your attention. Is there something about the reading that you’d like to ask God about? Voice your questions to the Lord.

Prayer

“God, I pray that out of your glorious riches you would be strengthen me through your Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may make a home in my heart through faith.”

—Ephesians 3 (NT)
