Episode 1030 “One Glance Away”
Today’s meditation comes from The Gospel Of Matthew in The New Testament and from the writings of John Muir, with music by Moments.
Passage: “Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall wear. Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.” —Matthew 6:25 and 28
Perspective: “We drifted about on the lake for hours, especially in lily time, getting finest lessons and sermons from the water and flowers, ducks, fishes, and muskrats. In particular we took Christ’s advice and devoutly “considered the lilies” – how they grow up in beauty out of gray lime mud, and ride gloriously among the breezy sun-spangles. This glorious valley might well be called a church, for every lover of the great Creator who comes here would be sure to worship as never before.” —John Muir
Music: “Ethereal Nights” by Moments
Narrator: Ryan Phipps
